About me

My story

My name is Sven Parthie, I am a certified Life Coach who specialises in Stress Management.

My Coaching approach is based on  Rational-Emotive Behavioural Therapy as established by Albert Ellis, the use of body awareness to respect our individul limits and relaxation techniques to reduce stress levels. In my work as Massage Therapist, I realised soon that massages  help to address underlying mental issues, that cause anxiety, sleeping problems, headaches, backpain and other psychosomatic symptoms. Therefore, I started coaching to offer my clients a more comprehensive approach. I am mainly focussing on stress management, burn-out prevention, procrastination and anxiety related issues. I work in English and German.

I have studied medieval and modern history, English philology and German Constitutional Law, I have worked in German and European Politics and have worked as Massage Therapist  for 10 years now. I have organized Trainings and Seminars in and for Youth organizations, Trade Unions, Political Parties and various Businesses.

01 Analyse

Stress is experienced differently by every person, and so are the reasons for stress. Not only external factors are a source of stress - like work load, accidents or disasters -, what can be even more stressful is what we belief about us, other people or the outside world. We develop these individual belief systems throughout our lives, and they are often filled with irrational beliefs and assumptions which lead to stress and unhelpful coping strategies. Example: "Everybody must like me", "I have to be the perfect employee/husband/wife/child".

02 Accept or change

Once the stress factors are analysed, it becomes possible to decide what to do with it. This is on the one hand empowering, as we can overcome the feeling of being trapped. On the other hand, it can be relieving when we decide to accept a certain fact or situation - because we got clarity about the things and thoughts we experience as problematic or exhausting. Once we achieved clarity about a problem, it becomes possible to deal and cope with it.

03 Adapt

Our lifes, careers, relationships are ever-changing. There will always be new challenges we have to adapt to. My task as a coach is to provide you with the tools to better cope with these challenges in the future. These tools can include analysing your underlying belief systems and stressors, self-acceptance, increased body awareness, stress reduction techniques and little tools from self-management and productivity to reduce the mental load.
